Megan Fox Disses 'Wonder Woman'

She’s fought giant robots in the Transformers franchise, and is set to star as bikini-clad “mermaid” Aspen in Fathom and a crazy-sexy bounty hunter in Jonah Hex, but apparently the one comic book movie Megan Fox is adamantly against appearing in, is the one that damn near everyone wants to see her in.

“(Wonder Woman) is lame,” Fox recently said in an FHM interview. “She flies around in an invisible jet, but she’s not invisible…I don’t get it.” Apparently the whole thing came up after Fox was informed of rumors that she was in the running for the lead role in Joss Whedon’s long-discussed silver screen adaptation of the Amazonian superheroine/bondage queen.

Look here Megan (I can call you Megan, right?), I’m not gonna argue with you over whether or not WW is a slightly less-than-cool character. But that doesn’t mean you just toss the chance to portray her aside! I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but a lot of casting agents in Hollywood have their heads up their asses. Kirsten Dunst as Mary-Jane Watson? Eric Bana as Bruce Banner? And that’s not even counting the rumors about upcoming movies, like Maggie Gyllenhall playing Catwoman in the next Batman movie, or Charlie Hunnam possibly getting tapped as Thor.

The point is, we (as in us nerds who keep coming to see these films) need you, if only to see that if we stick around long enough, the powers that be will reward us by matching an actress to a role that makes sense. But you know what? I can’t force you to take on yet another comic role; at the end of the day, it’s all up to you. However, if Wonder Woman isn’t your thing, might I make a humble suggestion…
